Detectives investigating the alleged abduction of nine-year-old Shannon Matthews have arrested two women.
West Yorkshire Police said a 25-year-old woman had been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender, while a 49-year old woman was being questioned on suspicion of attempting to pervert the course of justice.
Shannon went missing in Dewsbury on February 19 and was discovered in the base of a bed at an address in Batley Carr, just one mile from her home, after a dramatic 24-day police search.
Shannon vanished after returning from a school swimming trip.
West Yorkshire Police mounted a huge investigation involving hundreds of officers and a team of 60 detectives in an attempt to find her.
Michael Donovan, of Lidgate Gardens, Batley Carr, was arrested on March 14 after the youngster was found at his flat.
Donovan, 39, has been charged with Shannon's kidnap and imprisonment.
His trial has been provisionally set for November 11 at Leeds Crown Court.
Donovan, formerly known as Paul Drake, is the uncle of Shannon's stepfather, Craig Meehan.
Meehan, 22, has appeared at Dewsbury Magistrates' Court charged with 11 counts of possessing indecent images of children. He was remanded in custody to appear again before the same court on April 11.

Shannon Matthews: mother and sister of Craig Moheen arrested

The sister and mother of Craig Meehan, the boyfriend of Shannon Matthews' mother, have been arrested by police investigating her abduction, Times Online has learnt.
Amanda Hyett, 25, was arrested by West Yorkshire police on suspicion of assisting an offender, while Alice Meehan, 49, was being questioned on suspicion of attempting to pervert the course of justice.
West Yorkshire police said they had arrested the women, who they did not identify, in Dewsbury on Friday morning.
Shannon went missing in Dewsbury on February 19 and was discovered in the base of a bed at an address in Batley Carr, just one mile from her home, after a 24-day police search.
Ms Meehan is the sister of Michael Donovan, 39, the man charged with the kidnap and false imprisonment of Shannon, who vanished on February 19 following a school swimming trip.
Craig Meehan, the 22-year-old boyfriend of Karen Matthews, Shannon's mother, appeared in court accused of possessing 130 indecent images of children.
The supermarket fishmonger was remanded yesterday behind bars for "his own protection" at the end of an 11-minute court hearing, having declined to make a bail application.
Friends of Ms Matthews said they believed she had ended her relationship with Meehan.
Detectives found the images after seizing two computers from the home Meehan shared with Shannon and her mother in Dewsbury Moor, West Yorkshire, on February 20, the court heard.
The pictures are not believed to be of Shannon or her siblings.
Meehan, who has a two-year-old daughter from his relationship with Ms Matthews, is charged with ten specimen counts relating to possession of child pornography and one all-encompassing charge.
Although an emergency protection order on Shannon has been lifted, she has still not been allowed home. Child protection authorities are carefully monitoring her care following her ordeal.
She is thought to have been reunited with her mother during a three-hour meeting on Wednesday.
It was also reported today that three of Ms Matthews' other children are being looked after by social services.
Ms Matthews, 32, who has seven children by five different fathers, was believed to be staying in a "safe house" after the disclosure.
"She's absolutely devastated," a friend said yesterday.
"She lost Shannon for 24 days and now this. She's in pieces and I don't think she can cope with much more."
